The land of mountains, stupa’s, dal baht and momo’s. No country will take your breath away like this one. From hiking the world’s tallest mountains, to going on safari in Chitwan National Park: Nepal has got an adventure for everyone. The landlocked country was my first ever solo travel experience, and held a dear place in my heart ever since. With the kindest people, best views and bumpiest roads, it is not easy to forget.
The Langtang Valley Trek is the only trek I have done in Nepal, but I cannot believe anything can top it! With rhododendron forests and icy mountain views it was perfect. We went in April when those said forests were in bloom and fresh snow was still falling. As there are many guides out there describing all the practicalities, this blog is a travelogue describing our experiences, meaning to give you the inspiration to enjoy this trek as much as we did!
Being gluten-intolerant while traveling can be challenging, but travelling through Nepal has been a piece of cake. Due to their broad usage of rice and buckwheat, lots of delicious dishes made of any type of dough are good to eat. Although they do use wheat, with just a little bit of research, you will eat at the best spots. Or just read about my favorite gluten-free spots in Patan to get you started! Whether you are craving pancakes or momo’s, I’ve got you covered.
Although I did not go hiking, my first ever trip to Nepal was full of ups and downs. As I was still very young when I first got there, it taught me a lot about being alone. Because of Nepal’s special place in my heart, I am going back there this Spring. Keep on reading to find out more about my first ever trip to Nepal!
